The clock will not rest. I bought it back then, and listening back to the album 25 years on the week of its release now, I am happy to realize that the work sounds as good as ever. Future-proofed timeless IDM.

Really fun album, but the Rutti inspired "Ralome" stands out so much, and I always wish it lasted a bit more. That melody on octaves is wonderful.

Tearisci is a presque anagram of Eric Satie (missing the "e") and a cover of his Pièces Froides, No. 2: Danses De Travers: III

It still remained uncredited but the lead vocalist on hidden track "Face Me" is not Alison Goldfrapp but Mara Carlyle whose charming voice can be heard on early Plaid albums. Alison is also there as a backing singer.

I'd tell you to expect the unexpected when listening to this album, but that would be an incredible understatement.

From the electro-bouncey hip-hop of "Shackbu" to the spine-tingly beauty of "Ralome"; the ambience of "Buddy", the shear idiotic joy that is "Dang Spot", and the masterwork of the album, "Pino Pomo", this album will always leave you wondering. "Face me"(the bonus track at the end of "Air Locked") features vocals by the amazing Mara Carlyle; just stunning.

              Hunt this down!

Agree w Dubvulture on the cover but hey this is quirky electronica so why the need for a serious cover. Superb release which is varied within the IDM styles of its day and carries that nice hyper creative vibe that Black Dog had/has. The music bubbles with percussion, hums with intricate melodies and lastly leaves the curious listener wanting more. Brilliant A+!

Ohhh...This this such a cool album!!

I actually owned the other three studio albums (Not For Threes, Double Figure and Spokes) before this one, so I wondered if it would live up to my expectations.
                  It exceeded them!!
The style of tracks here is so diverse. From the most beautiful piece of music I think I've heard, i.e, 'Ralome', to the busy fusion of styles of 'pino pomo' and the giggle-fest that is 'dang spot'.
I find myself more and more enthralled by Plaid's music.

This album; 'Rest Proof Clockwork' is a MUST BUY.

                  Enjoy :0)

Fantastic album, an absolute must-have for anyone into electronic music. Not Plaid's best album; Double Figure is better overall, with a little more consistency in the track quality. However, Rest Proof Clockwork contains what is, in my opinion, the best track Plaid have produced so far, and one of the finest pieces of electronic music ever: ralome (track 2). After 5 years of listening, it hasn't tired and still sends shivers down my spine. Miss this album at your peril!

absolutely the best plaid album to date, every time i play rest proof their creativity amazes me,every track is completely different, every track lives in its own world, and yet they form a very coherent whole.their latest double figure is very weak compared to this one,its just very linear and one-dimensional,that one dimension is great, but theres nothing more, and im not satisfied with only great commercial-melodic-listenable album from ed & andy...
hopefully things will get better with the new one,cuz their p-brane ep is fantastic...a little harsher sound, heavier beats....and.....a change:)
