Not for everyone, this slow brooding folk-ambient-acoustic prog (?) is a surprising shift in style from what many people might expect from Steven Wilson and Mikael Åkerfeldt. Very very little percsussion and extremely cryptic lyrics may further alienate listeners, however it's reflective vibe and ambient undertones sound absolutely perfect. I can name very few albums that sound as perfect as this does on my CD player or through my headphones. The mood it produces is dark yet strangely beautiful. The final track Ljudet Innan is one of the most beautiful songs that Steven Wilson has ever written - and those haunting final couple of minutes on the album linger long after the album has ended.
