I'm pretty sure the US and Canadian versions are the same as the inner sleeve lists all rights reserved in US and Canada. Unless someone can provide some pics and see if the pressings and variants are different, or the variants are the Canadian ?
All that said. I bought mine in the US in at Budget Tapes and Records. I usually got my imports from Tower Records in Tacoma WA. While another review states the LP was issued in 1986. I bought mine in 1985. And it was my 1st Armored Saint LP and then I bought the rest. I think it's their best record. Its more up to date lyrically, less fantasy based themes, themes more centered around isolation, apocalyptic
loneliness. Musically, the album stands strong, song after song has cohesiveness. Has a typical Heavy Metal sound, but is polished nicely, there's a bit of reverb and echo on most of the vocals, the album shows the excellent range and strong voice John Bush posseses. He's a damn good singer and has a masculine strength and clarity.
Armored Saint holds their own with any metal band. Yeah, you hear some similar guitar rhythms of hair metal bands like Ratt, Motley Crue, and some horse gallops like Iron Maiden and Metallica. They've got originalnality, some excellent acoustic and electric guitar patterns w/echo, wah, and tempo changes, maybe similar Scorpions or MSG. But in comparing bands of the era, there's a clean Soundgarden or Metal Church sound like sound that pushes them outside of LA. I mention these bands as if you've never heard A.S. and , you might want to get a taste. They are excellent musicians. Have some clear headbanging stompers; have a great chemistry, especially on Delirious Nomad. Rock solid album. Very talented band. Nice melodrama. And again, John Bush can sing! And Dave Prichard rips as a guitarist. Joey Vera plays a pounding bass, but slows it down for the more ballad like songs. And whats not to like about a drummer named "Gonzo".
To me, their other releases are a bit cheesy. This release is rock solid. I consider it their best record.
