This box set is really excellent. The only lacking situation was the lack of a hi res Blu Ray disc. Like WYWH and DSOTM, Instead there should have been a Blu Ray of the Wall concert remastered. Instead we get a "teaser" video that was remastered ..but only about 2 min long. Having seen the footage...the restored version would have been awesome. Also the live wall cd has been remastered. Much of the hi end was removed using noise reduction. The original cd of Is there anybody out there is amazing yet a little tape noisy. But IMO better because of it. Otherwise this set is great for every PF fan and I am glad to own all of them. Too bad these came out when they did or they would have probably been issued with vinyl and hi res s like the Division Bell box set - which I own - and is amazing. Otherwise this set is critical for those who still enjoy owning their music with the physical product.
-
My only complaint about this set is that it did not have the original 1982 earls court concert on film, which I had heard was available. and all the black lines on the marbles representing the brick pattern have all slipped off.

Easily the best of the three sets for the demos alone. Possibly the greatest demos by any artist ever released. I’d put them up against the best Dylan, Beatles, Neil Young, or anything else. Elite level material that’s like getting a brand new double album of peak Floyd. We all want the 5.1 and as great as the DSOTM or WYWH Immersion sets are this wins for the demos! It makes you wonder how much is left in the vaults.
-
I am a Pink Floyd nutcase. I put off buying this set for a long time due to it not having what the other sets have. Its a shame because this feels like a cash grab compared to Dark Side and Wish You Were Here. No 5.1 mix, no movie, even the videos that are offered are only on DVD. Sure the older vids wouldn't look much better on Blu-ray but at least the menus could have looked nice in hi-def. It just feels lazy and rushed. The books, pics and extras are great to have. But if you are not a die hard fan that must have it all this one can be ignored. Invest in DSOTM or WYWH. The 5.1 mixes are worth the price of the set alone. You will never hear Floyd better than that.
-
My copy of The Wall Immersion boxset doesn't have anything on the back of the box, totally blank. Only Immersion written on the sides not a code in site and sticker on front doesn't have a code either. Anyone else come across this? Kind of don't want to open the shrink to check inside but might have to. Brought in Australia, the other 2 were UK & Europe versions so I can only hope it is too.
-
In my humble opinion, I think this is the least good of the three box sets.
The reasons being:
* There is no 5.1 mix. (Or quadrophonic, for that matter.)
* There is no High Definition (Blu-ray) version of the album.
* The movie "Pink Floyd The Wall" is not included. (Because of copyright issues, I assume.)
It would also have been nice if they had included a re-production of the "When the Tigers Broke Free" single, since the B-side isn't available through any other means (only in the movie and on the original single.)
Note that I wrote "least good" and not the "worst", beacuse it is a good box set. It just could have been better, especially considering how much nonsense merchandise (marbles, cards, etc...) you get.
