Edited 8 months agoPlaying this now it sounds like the most exhilarating music ever. The way wire spoke before u wd never imagine them recreating the vogue of pink flag which was such a speedfreak rush. But this insanely manic but liberating tourdeforce eclipses that work. To think how daf for instance sounded so impossibly modern having been inspired by wire and metal urbain. How often i listen to those acts and nothing seems more exciting but now the masters of the purest and most abstract of modernist punk, wire, the kings themselves of iconoclastic artlessly arty and generic punk abstraction have outdone themselves and shown how they cd teach daf or queens of the stone age or any ramones revivalists new tricks, i've gotta say, this really is masterfully catchy modernist music at its most unreal and inspiring. An easy 5 stars.
