Edited 22 days agoPerfect. That is the original Live Sound. No Manipulation later in the Studio. Don't ask me how many perfect sounded Priest live recordings I have in My collection. So it is good to have this explosive live Feeling on this release now...and a bootleg is far away from this record here. I Like it. Full Points.

Great release ! ~ I taping this off the Radio as a kid & played it to death , this is just that ...Priest playing a killer show 100% live as it happened . no slick production with overdubs but the live band as it was played that night . I don't get the negative reviews at all , this is a great show & i'm very happy to have this . My only complaint would be the Minimal packaging , it should have been a nice gatefold cover . If you're looking for a "studio" album that's all redone in the studio with a crowd loop , this is not it . this is priest in their Prime live .

I've noticed the sound on this LP is actually worse than the CD version, and the CD isn't great. I'd say this LP sounds like a good radio broadcast that you would get on a grey area release, not perfect but definitely listenable, strange that they chose this show from the box and not one of the better ones.

Oh, I thought this was the same as the Judas Priest Live! (VHS) or same as the DVD in the Metalogy boxset. that old live recording and video? It sounds very good. It is a pity that they didn't use that source and concert instead of this. I believe the Live! (Screaming for Vengeance tour) was this recording, but it seems that was in Memphis.
If this sounds as bad as people say, plus the bad packaging, it is a big for me. -
I don’t understand the hate for this record at all. Sounds miles better than a bootleg. Blistering performance from the Priest. Bloodstone on vinyl sounds improved compared to the streaming version, IMHO. May not be the definitive live recording of Priest in this era of the band, but this is still quite good overall - plenty of bass, prominent guitar solos, Halford is on fire. Packaging is JV with artwork that has nothing at all to do with ‘82 JP, but sound quality is not the problem here. Solid pressing, quiet vinyl, recommended. Live recordings that you never thought would see the light of day that are well-pressed on vinyl is surely a win for RSD, no?

Edited one month agoThis was a huge disappointment,
Muddy and weak sounding if I was alex wharton id be embarrassed to have my name on this album! I know its live and probably from the mixing console but i think they could have spent a little more time at the eq station maybe used a better quality vinyl also. -

Edited one month agoVocals are too loud, no bass, have to turn it up too much to hear any guitar. I know this is from a CD box set but damn. A little hard to listen to. It’s maybe worth the buy but not for its price.

Edited one month agoAt the beginning of Side C, "Diamonds and Rust" ends on an audience fade-out, with "Devil's Child" having the audience fade in, exactly as it does at the end of CD1 and beginning of CD2 of the version of this concert from the "50 Heavy Metal Years" box set. So I think this is just the CD from the box set pressed to vinyl with... that weird oversight left in. Which is disappointing, but the overall sound quality is nice. Why they didn't split Side B and Side C at the same place they split CD1 and 2 I'll never know.
