Actually managed to snag a new copy today (12/20/24)?!? from a shop in West Michigan. Couldn't believe they still had one. Loving it! Really nice selection of deep cuts. Agree with the other reviewers that this is a nice return to form for the series.

Edited 5 months agoFantastic collection of deep cut jazz funk. Vinyl looks super cool too. Sounds fantastic. Had to search high and low for a copy in a shop but managed to find ONE. Sold out just about everywhere in a brick and mortar. Makes sense cause it’s a scorcher. Catalyst track is a bangin closer. Wicked set. Reminds me a lot of the Floating Points Late Night Tales comp

Agree with what others are saying. This returns the series to what it has and should be. Slaps right from the start.

Certainly a return to form after what I would consider at least a couple of duds from JD. I buy every one sight unseen, but was a bit worried after the last couple. This one slaps and is right in line with what I expect from a Jazz Dispensary release. The pressing is great and the artwork is also a nice return to form.

Awesome release from jazz dispensary. The tracklist is a meticulous choice of jazz funk. Sounds better after a ultrasonic cleaning. Try this, it will blow your mind

Edited 5 months agoSeems the message was loud and clear The Golden Hour returns to what we expect from the jazz dispensary, indeed a new batch of sizzlers,so now my faith is restored and I can forget that horror called the freedom sound from last April.
Word got out fast because The Golden Hour is selling out in this neck of the groove -
Edited 5 months agoAs usual, stellar selections and sequence from Jazz Dispensary. Many of these comps play like a concept album, this one included. I've long loved that Vince track. Nice to have it on vinyl.
Bought it new, but my copy definitely plays with some surface noise. Anyone else have this issue? Tested it. It's not my system.
