Maybe I got lucky with this pressing but mine plays silent, no pops or clicks anywhere. I suspect the mix/master isn't that great however, it's quite a muddy and compressed mix. But I'm ok with it, it's a really great album song wise - a real return to form from a band well into their career now. -
Edited 2 months agoI have a "Made in " copy and apart from a very minor warp (genuinely barely noticeable) it is an excellent pressing. As a big fan of Mr Smith and the CURE, (one of the finest live acts you can see) it's a splendid collection of excellent tracks. -
Edited 4 months agoI don’t understand the negative comments. I have a very good system and I love how this record sounds. The mixing / mastering / pressing all do justice to these fantastic songs. Wide and deep soundstage. An intense and very rewarding listening experience. -
El álbum es magnífico, pero la calidad de sonido podría haberse mejorado mucho más, aunque se quiera mantener ese carácter obscuro para recrear la atmósfera típica de algunos trabajos de Cure, pero en algunos pasajes es todo como una bola, sin poder diferenciar instrumentos.

After hearing all the negative comments about the pressing quality I really wanted the half speed remaster but ended up buying this bio black version from an independent record shop as I prefer to do. I am pleasantly surprised that it sounds fine and probably as intended as Disintegration is also hardly hifi. Very happy with mine. It's a great set of songs and Robert's voice is perfect and so completely unchanged by time.

I deliberated for ages deciding which pressing to get. I wanted the 2LP as it's a lot of music on one disc. The half speed mastering doesn't bother me. I have a couple of these and can't hear any difference. But there is some poor with the 2LP as there is with all the variants. In the end, I went for this bio black version reasoning that it would be easier to return in store if it really was that bad! However, I'm pleasantly surprised. My copy is flat and silent. Yes, the mix is a bit muddy and not much separation between instruments. The vocals, keys and strings sound the best to me with everything else a little lower in the mix. Overall, considering numerous bad reviews, I'm happy with this pressing. Perhaps I was a lucky one.

had to return my first copy of this because the vinyl just looked too bad, probably because of the inner sleeve. my new one looks fine thought! (plays fine too) but i recommend to get a new inner sleeve for this one. -

I have all 3 pressings (Black-Pallas pressing, Marble and Black-OPTIMAL pressing) and I'm probably one of the lucky few! All 3 pressings are excellent in of quality and cleanliness. No crackling, hissing or popping.
Of the 3 pressings, the OPTIMAL Media is definitely the best in of sound!!!
