Edited 3 days agoI inherited this album copy from my father in law. The labels are all painted in black, the sleeve has wild wear all over, separated parts, a true mess. Surprisingly, it doesn't sound bad at all. Very few skips and not too much background noise.
I usually avoid post-decades reissues (unless notable enhanced reissues) and go for the original year copy, or close years after represses. But anyway, to get a copy of With the Beatles as a gift is always very pleaseant.
I couldn't compare it to the OGs UK or ES pressing, but sounds good to me. Warm and dynamic sound all through the record. I can confidently recommend this copy if you don't want to spend more than necessary, or if you're not seeking for the most authentic/audiophile copy in the world of this album.
Regarding the album itself, this is one of my favourite Beatles in general, certainly my favourite from their early years along with Please Please Me and Rubber Soul (if you consider this latter early years).
