Awesome record and definitely his best in a while. But the quality of the pressing itself could be better. It came a little warped and the first track had a skip 30 seconds in. It’s sounds good, but I find that boosting the treble a little helps. Overall I’m still happy I bought this one.

Let me tell you something, you don't play a Jack White record and complain about noise floor or distortion. If you do, you're not getting it and this music isn't for you. Jack runs everything he does through compressors and distortion pedals, and even his mic runs through vocal effect boxes and he intentionally overdrives his mic tube preamp.
If the record plays without skipping it does everything it needs to. Everything else rocks Jack White Style. -

Went through a couple copies, all pretty noisy. Not particularly surprising considering it's a Third Man release and pressing. Thankfully the nature of the album masks a lot of it, but you can still tell it's subpar QC.

Might not be a perfect audiophile record but this album is a jam. So damn good. Love the color of the record, too. I have more of a "fun" set-up (Denon PMA-600NE, Klipsch RP-600M and Fluance RT85 with Nagaoka Mp-110) and this one jumps out really good!

Great album, love the tracks. I gotta be honest, I think the "muffled" complaint is a bit hollow. I think that's the intention of the mastering, you may not like it, but it's very much a Jack White thing. The highs are still there and separation still exists. I doubt the black pressing will sound any different. My copy was flat, and cleaned with an RCM, no snap, crackle pop.

Who else has the shrink seams and the barcode sticker on the front cover? In other words, belongs the name at the spine on top? The sticker suggests upside down.

It's a real shame that some of Jack White's finest work is marred by such a poor vinyl pressing. The sound is muffled, as if it's being played from a different room with the door closed.
