7 out of 10 pressing. Not terrible but not perfect. Mid range on b side gets a bit lost a few times but nothing to cry about not replace.

for a company that promotes catering to collectors they sure missed the mark here .... not a very good pressing and average at best packaging ... i give it a "meh"

The mastering IS solid. It IS easy for all of us to complain these days. The pressing itself IS sub-par on my copy. It has the reverse of no fill (probably a term for this) where instead of pits throughout there are tiny bumps causing loud clicks and a skip. It's in the vinyl and not a clean issue unfortunately. With that said I am glad to have a placeholder copy of this classic that didn't break my wallet and imagine a future where it gets a reference version treatment.

Edited 2 years agoReality check: this one is waaay better than the previous Polydor re-whatever (now thankfully dispatched to the pre-loved section of my local wax supplier). Is it audiophile? Unlikely. Does it sound good? You bet it does.
Fact of the matter is, back when we of this particular generation were collecting records - and taping them for our girlfriends - we would be more than satisfied with this particular slab of 180 gram licororice.
So wise up brothers and sisters; take this for what is is, and be thankful that you have the knowledge of great vibes and appreciate the only righteous way to tune in. If you want high-fydelitee, see your local bank manager. -
An excellent album by Roy Ayers but a quality of pressing which is not quite up to par, unfortunately.
