This, for me is a well-balanced blend of UK progressive house and US Garage.

    Great track!!

Big House track from X-Press 2.
"The Journey Continues" is the main mix and very aptly named it is too, as thats exactly what the track does - take you on a journey ! It slowly builds from its initial beat intro, dropping into a funky guitar loop, giving the track a bit of energy, it then slowly builds with bass, synth stabs and layers of percussion and strings lifting the track further, the "Raise Your Hands" Vocal comes in the track drops and rebuilds, drops again with the vocal, sirens and the track building right back up again creating a huge but short breakdown that blows the roof off. The other mixes play on the different elements to greater or lesser extent.
Fantastic track and worth a listen, best played on a loud system to appreciate it fully.

According to an old Mixmag article, the distinctive "typewriter" sound on the main break is actually a really distorted recording of Marshall Jefferson saying "gotta have, gotta have house"! You can just about make out the words if you listen carefully and use your imagination. :)

The "raise your hands" line is sampled from the intro to the Little Louie Vega-produced 'We Can Make It' by Sole Fusion on Strictly Rhythm (SR12 100).
