I have played this pressing numerous times with an ortofon blue cartridge. During the last 2-3 minutes of both sides, it has cried out to me in its pain. Although mastered a bit too loud, it has an overall good sound with lows and highs in check. I have not compared it with an OG.

Never liked how this pressing sounded. It could be my player, but it’s not a high quality pressing. Other than that, the quality of the Jacket is very nice and the vinyl color looks great

My blue Walmart exclusive copy states Made in Canada on the packaging. The vinyl has many qualities of a record pressed at Precision including excessive noise, visible marks on the vinyl, and razor sharp outer edge. I should also mention the severe IGD on Seaside Rendezvous. The mastering is enjoyable. However, I would much rather listen to my 75’ copy. The Walmart exclusive is cut louder with better low end and definition while the OG has air and warmth that you expect from vinyl. The music is amazing of course. I’d only recommend this to someone that does not have another copy.

Edited 2 years agoJust got this today i own the virgin half speed master as well but i believe this pressing beats it hands down this thing sounds amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DYNAMICS SOUNDSTAGE ITS ALL THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that it only cost $27 don't walk run to wal-mart and grab a copy!!! Don't let the fact that its a digital mastered lp fool you into thinking its not any good. I love Analog and digital if they are done right and trust me this 1 was done right . Not sure why it sounds so much better than my other digital half speed that virgin did back in 2019 but it does!!!!!!! and i paid more for it too.

Gorgeous pressing, quiet, clean, all channels crisp. Brought tears to my eyes listening to Bohemian Rhapsody. Even the chimes stood out more than any version I've ever heard.

sounds amazing, high quality. if anyone was waiting for word on the sound quality before pulling the trigger, now's the time

Same plates as the Studio Collection boxset, and it sounds pretty good! Better than my VMP copy from years ago, and way cheaper! Not aware if digital is used in the chain for these reissues, but the master tapes were the source of the half-speed remaster.
