From a post of "worthlesstrash" on Terminal Boredom forum:

"Paul Leclercq was a Desperate Bicycle for the 3 hours it took to rehearse and record the "Smokescreen" 45.

The live side of the Method LP was recorded on equipment supplied by Epic Records who were recording B-sides for mod outfit The Step who were on the same bill, though without Epic's knowledge. Some goods songs on there (...) "Circular Dreams" probably should have been a single (the unreleased studio version is pretty faultless). "Making Do" sounds to my ears like "Dirk" era Adam & The Ants. Publishers Heath Levy promised to provide funds for a full studio album, but didn't, so what little money they did cough up (enough for a single?) was spent on recording 4 throw-away tracks to piss Heavy Levy off. All good-fun. "Making Music Play" was actually written by Rik in the cab on the way to the studio. "The Biz" is the pick and Paul's poem "The Method Owed" tracks the history of the band. Both sides of their rarest 45 "Chances" / "Little Lasers" fills out the studio side. Good album!"
