This album was a disappointment to me. Being a fan of her previous work, I really wanted to love it as much as the critics. I get the concept, but it didn’t seem to have the ion of her last few albums.
It sounds ok on my system, but I don’t recommend listening on headphones. It is there where all the imperfections of the recording are really evident. It is so noisy. I cleaned twice on my nity gritty machine and once by hand, and the sound was only minimally improved. Maybe the cd is better -
Good-but-not-perfect press. My copy is very clean but the recoring is so full of silence and it deserves a perfect pressing, and this is not. Quite a lot of surface noise is present, in some tracks some clicks and pops (mostly on the last track, in my case).
It's not as bad as most of the records you buy these days, which are often pretty faulty and muddy. I really enjoy this record and this pressing, I just wish it was more silent in order to better pair to the musical content.
By the way, the record is an absolute masterpiece. Oh my!
