This track was the beginning of putting Staten Island on the map as a force of some real conscious rappers, style was fresh and unique. Hip Hop needed this fresh breath! "Heard this first on 89.1 I believe that was the station underground music in NYC", I was in awe of the style. Wu Tang Clan Comin' at ya! A must have !

It is very important to protect "ya" neck if you are trying out a sport such as moto-cross for the first time. A neck brace can actually save your life if you experience a nasty collision with another rider, or you become unseated due to a bump in the track or perhaps after skidding on some loose gravel. I think it is very good and irable that the Wu Tang Clan are promoting safety in such a conscientious and creative way. Thank you Wu Tang Clan, for all the young lives you are saving with your rap!!

On my copy, every version of Protect Ya Neck is identical (the radio edit version). Anyone else?

For me this is the track that put New York back on the map.The most talented group of MC's ,period, combine to smack you in the face with super dope rhymes that first introduce the clan, with RZA's production putting almost every one to shame in 93.Whether it was Deck,Ray,Ghost,RZA,GZA,Meth or any of the rest,Jez they sounded hungry.Godamn this sounded fresh, and the brilliant B side introduced to the future actor, but then still a great M.C(long, long before Holywood started calling)

the first single from Wu Tang as a collective.
released independently on Wu Tang records, this was picked up by Loud who helped it reach a wider audience

the 'bloody version' (A3) on here has all the swearing still in......on the 36 chambers album and other releases it's been edited out. so pick up this 12" if you wanna hear their explosive debut in all its glory!
