Not sure if some of these came out bad or something, I do know this got a stealth reissue as this was out of stock and randomly started popping up again. My copy that I got right when it was pressed sounds good to my ears. Though I havent heard the CD of this one in a while, will have to do a direct comparison at some point.

I have a good system and normally play 180g reissues, but thought I'd take a chance on this repress. Bad decision. The sound is very thin, sounds 'hot', I can't seem to offset the lack of bottom end. Iistened 1x and am going to give it away.

Pressing is very thin sounding for the first half of side A then the mix opens up out of nowhere during Points Of Authority.

That's a Nope from me! I grabbed two from Walmart. Both first and second Walmart copies have this static hiss noise in-between tracks. Same sound as the STP Core and Purple Italy presses give off, although Walmart's Linkin Park vinyl has made in on the back. First copy was warped and I noticed some edges lifting off the plate. Second wasn't warped. My 2013 issue sounds better than this.

Edited 2 years agoLinkin Park's Hybrid Theory is one of the best albums of the 00s. Combining hip-hop elements with alternative rock in a brilliant way, and having one of the decade's best voices in Chester Bennington, LP brought a fresh, aggressive element to their music. This is no more apparent than from this album, which front to back is filled with amazing tracks, and could almost by itself be a greatest hits album. This pressing is very good, one which I only partly disagree is as amazing as many posters here have rated it. (For the record, I would give it a 4.5/5 if that were possible). The biggest issue for me is that the soundscape is a little compressed, and could be a little punchier if they did not overload the wax like they did. An album of this importance deserves a 2LP spread. Anotehr issue I have is that there is a lot of inconsistency from track to track. Some sound incredible, others, only average. Regardless, the vinyl sounds pretty damn good, and lacks only a bit more punch and tighter bass to be a full five stars. This translucent red version is absolutely killer as well.

Edited 2 years agoWal-Mart has been absolutely killing it with their exclusives, this record sounds incredible.

I'm very surprised at how good this LP sounds. Did Hybryd Theory a great well-deserved job. Also, the translucent red really fits its mood. I feel 13 again, and it's great.

An incredible pressing. Clean, very little background noise and punchy where it needs to be. I was surprised at how this album sounds on vinyl, so long as your copy isn’t warped or mispressed, a great auditory experience.
