Listened over an over. I like the track. Some of the remixes don't do the original justice yet STILL there is some other instrument mixing things that could have been decided before release. It could have been a lot more full, more engaging. That's why I give this track 3 stars. There are more deserving 4+ stars in bonzai deserving

The Life of Flow is an Ambient Masterpiece and the better Track of both, but thats just my taste. I see that the First Rebirth probably was mind blowing back then (1993, holy crap) but the Ambient sounds of The Life Of Flow totally get me these days

The First Rebirth was re-pressed in 2020. It's strange that no one has written about it here.

The most overrated track i've ever seen in my life. Totally CRAAAAP!
Boring, ear pain sound quality, bad melody (which melody?), a disturbing pseudo siren, and only boing, boing, boing, boing 4 beat. It even doesn't have a bassline.
Even ''Rotterdam Termination Source ‎– Poing'' track is a better written tune, at least that one had character and power.
''First Rebirth'' track is for the 3rd generation ravers, who didn't have a clue about quality music, and went there for love peace and unity, lost in drugs, and feel uplifted to the fastest and cheesiest music could have ever been. GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!

It won't let me delete my comment - so this will have to suffice - I don't even know what the original comment meant now! I'm now in my mid-50s and have been into dance music for the best part of 40 years (via jazz-funk > electro > acid house > hardcore > trance (my greatest love)) and have heard literally 1000s of tunes and this is easily up there in the top 10. You can lose yourself completely in this record like few others. It has a transcendent quality found in good classical music if that's not going too far! What a tune!

In an interview from 2017 Franky Jones told that he was inspired by Jam & Spoon's - Tripomatic Fairytales that just came out around that time. Especially the trance sound was what he liked. He wanted to make a record with that sound but with faster bpm than the average rave track from that period (140 bpm). So The First Rebirth ended up at 160 bpm. The first take was done in 15 minutes. Although Franky was not completely satisfied with the beginning, it was Yves Deruyter (who came by in the studio accidentally) who convinced him not to change it. So the first take became the final version we all know.

Relentless bonzai hard trancer, absolute classic of its genre and a widely loved cultural gem from the lowlands.

The only track in my opinion that gives this a run for its money is Spirit Solution - I'm Dead on Piranha Records. Released in 1994, it has a similar sound and style, with perhaps a bit more edge. Love them both. They define my generation, and are still on repeat in my head 20 odd years later.
