I'm about to use the infamous word here - overrated.
There are a few highlights on this album (Tha, Schottkey 7th Path), but the overall impression of this collection is that RDJ was still learning the craft and developing his unique style, which he would present in "SAW 2" and later. There are a few hints of his future style here and there, but nothing that would truly make this album live to its hype. Most of the tracks just follow the acid house formula, which was so popular at that time, with some reverb effect applied (is that where the "ambient" adjective is supposed to come from?). It simply hasn't aged that well.
