Edited 7 years agoThis is a remarkable album, but it seems (to my ears at least) to have been mastered poorly. There are some parts that are so quiet that I can barely hear them, at which point I turn up the volume. Then, then come the parts that are blaring, and since you've already turned up your speakers to hear the soft parts, it's almost painful.
It seems that sensible adjustment of the levels during the mastering process could have avoided this problem altogether. As a result, a great set of pieces that I don't listen to as much as I'd like or as much as the music deserves.
Has anybody else had the same experience with this recording? Are other versions any better?
