I had trouble tracking down the final track on Disc 2. I believe it's "MV's Moody Mix" of 'Envy - Faith'. Not "Original Jericho Mix" as listed.

Edited one year agoPulled directly from the inside cover, hella piece of history written down, it tells a very wonderful story!
CD1 “starts out on a melancholic tip and goes tribal and dark the goes progressive,” Sharam says. It rolls confidently through the hi-NRG dub breakout of ‘Rise’, from Soul Providers Featuring Michelle Shellers, into G-Pal Presents Ghos’s ‘I Can See The Lights’ – a fluttering, lift-off groove. For Ali, this mix is a chance to push producers of the future and G-Pal is one of them. “We get on great with him,” he says. “He’s serving time in the Greek military right now, he’s from Crete originally.” The mix winds through an unreleased Deep Dish remix of Dido’s international hit ‘Thank You’ – her vocal reduced to a repeated chorus that’s slave to a punishing groove. Ali also tips Wally Lopez and Dr Kucho, whose remix of SSHH’d ‘Hold That Body’ finds melody in a fiery ring of percussive and an angry acid wail, “It’s a more musical as well as a percussive direction,” Ali notes. And when you reach the end of this mix, hand fire for a minute and a extra-special, self-explanatory hidden track comes in.
CD2 is harder – “more banging,” says Sharam. It starts with a Way Out West remix of ‘Shame’ by their old studio-mate BT. The remix punches Stdio One reverb through a metronome, bass-heavy rhythm. “Nick (Warren, half of Way Out West) has a lot of dub sensibilities in his music,” Ali notes, “which is something we can relate to.” As does Micheal Thomas, the New York producer behind Blackwatch Presents Professor Okku’s ‘Word Unspoken’, the equally dubwise track that follows. Other highlights include ‘I Feel Stereo’, a ranting techno take on Chaka Khan’s soul classic ‘I Feel For You’ from Italian veteran Dino Lenny; a hard-nosed Markus Schulz remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Bird of Prey’; and the Oriental wails of Luzon’s ‘Manila Sunrise’ (another Schulz remix). This mix doesn’t climb to a relentless finale, though, just keeps energy and fuck levels high as it closes with the haunting vocal refrain and cruise-control groove of John Creamer and Stephane K’s ‘I Wish You Were Here’ (here in a 16B remix) and the slippery, liquid rhythms of Envy’s ‘Faith’. The end of 26 track trip that takes the widest, wildest interpretation of soulful, uncompromising, groove-heavy house music and finds the point where deep house, tribal rhythms, and no-frills progressive can all get funky together. -
there's no bad compilation with "chab - the dub session". Every single cd mix with this track turned in a instant classic.

Edited 20 years agoNot unlike other GU or Deep Dish releases, this set has the deep classic soulful house one would come to expect from two of the most influential Djs in history. Varying from deep, almost dark-acid house, to uplifting classic house, this set is GU for anyone. Sporting tracks from hot prospects and artists such as Chab, and Dino Lenny, this set definitely has the variety todays house listeners are expecting.
Definitely something to pick up if you have a pair of speakers and a working cd player--Its that good.

Everything they touch is gold...Luckily production is steady because just about everything they do is a must have, whether it be a DJ mixed set, a remix, their own stuff. They have the talent of making songs, that would normally not hold up very well on their own, incredible within an in-the-mix recording. I bow down to you both.

This is the first, and certainly not the last, mix from Deep Dish to be on Global Underground. Disc one starts with a nice song that has a real touching melody (although I could do without the vocal). Then, it changes into some nice grooves that are very percussive with a touch of meledoy for that extra added "feeling" that makes you want to dance. Then at the end, the vocals kick in from two really famous songs (Dido's Thank You - Iio's Rapture) and the cd ends. Disc two starts off with nice melodies as well (the vocal is good on this one). It then gets a little deep and dark but then around track 7 or 8, the music then starts to let up and make you want to dance again. Another beautiful vocal comes at the end of the disc and they ease you off the ride nicely until you come to a complete stop. I love this CD set and I'm sure you will too.
