Comes as Digipak

First catalog# appears on the spine of the digipak, second one on the CD itself.

In spring 2005 I was invited by Luca Serasini to record some ambient tracks for the M3M art exhibition in Pisa. Usually I am a bit skeptical about "arty" things but, after I saw the interesting concept of the exhibition I decided to accept. The theme of the exhibition was mainly focused the river's end, with its unique role in the local urbanistic and social context. It is a unique place where an airplane factory (CMASA, now dismissed) was standing in the point where the river meets the sea, in front of a set of wooden structures holding fishing nets. The marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, together with a bit of nostalgia, created an unexpected but amazing mood. I was asked to use acoustic and natural sounds too, so I used treated piano and acoustic guitar sounds (quite strange flavors for me), together with water and metal samples.
With these sounds, obviously integrated with sounds made using current software technology I
created a set of audio fragments used in the various exhibition installations and videos.

Between 2007 and 2009 I regenerated and remastered these fragments, assembling them in this (quite) unusual Bad Sector release.

Massimo Magrini, April 2009.

M3M (Marina Terzo Millennio) took place in Marina di Pisa in June 2005.

Gänsehaut-erzeugend. Grossartig.[Drone Records - short review / info 2009]

I'm so glad that web only CMASA compositions released couple of years ago got a proper release. Even though Massimo Magrini says it's an 'unusual' Bad Sector album, it does have a very typical signature sound Bad Sector is famous for. This is a good thing! This is an amazing album - very melancholic and moody, with lots of deep atmospheres and incredible feeling of depth and desolation. I can't think of another artist using stereo effects so effectively. It's a no brainer - absolutely recommended!
