Reviews
-
Thin, abrasive master, with very narrow soundstage. Brassy high end with no finesse. Almost unlistenable.

my copy in hand is an exact match, but its not 180g. weighs 143 grams. bought it second hand about 20 years ago. the sound is very bright with really full depth, and the low-end has a huge presence throughout. hell the bass in the first track will rattle your ribcage at even low volume. i dont have any other pressing to compare this to, but i think it sounds great and totally enjoyable. and, yes, i am well aware of some of the not-so-well-done Rhino reissues in the past.

I haven't had or heard any other press of this album, but I appear to have this one. Haven't played it in ages, then decided to put it on and I was stunned. Sure, it seems a bit bright, yet it sounds really opened, engaging and moving, it sounds alive. It was a pleasure to listen to this record after a long pause.

Really bad pressing. All the "sh", high-mids, from Curtis's voice and from the cymbals are incredibly agressive. It really disturbs the listening. Is it only on my copy ?

Purchased the gatefold version RE of this Lp. Sounds absolutely stunning.Bright vocals and strings/brass, great bass. I use Rp3, Marantz and KEF.
