I love how it has 2 instead of 1 record! its fun to use. it feels thick, it sounds great, it is even fun just to look at! United Record Pressing, you are a legend for this!
also i especially love that it came with an art piece, and i especially love the LP jacket's design! -
While I can’t speak on the quality of disc one (I’ve always preferred the mix of the redux), the pressing quality itself must’ve either improved because the record itself plays well. Little surface noise after a light clean with a brush and some cleaner. If you prefer the redux, it’s definitely worth a purchase (on sale, of course). If you prefer the original mix, given the reviews of this release, another pressing may be a better fit

The remix sounds worlds apart from the original mix. I had always wished they hadn’t soaked everything in reverb. I didn’t know what eddie was saying till I got older because I couldn’t hear what he was saying.

Wasn’t even planning on listening to the remix and was about to send the whole thing back because the remaster is meekly cut to noisy vinyl. But the remix is great. It’s clean, detailed, and transparent. Unfortunately, there is some distortion near the dead wax. Going to try to exchange for a good copy. But you can discount all the people saying the remix sucks. It’s excellent.

Just like VS surface noise galore. Even after a good cleaning.
Dynamics are OK. It is definitely listenable. And I’d agree with others. This is one to crank on speakers….. I listened on my headphones and was disappointed with all the surface noise -
Edited one year agoI got this album and got no pops and cracks. Bit it as a bit more surface noise then normal. The only thing is I really need to crank up the volume to get some decent dynamics. Easily mistaken for lack of dynamics…because in comparison to the cd version, that has a lot (to much perhaps?) dynamics.

Picked up a used copy yesterday. The runout codes indicate I have Variant 3. No issue with pops. Still flat in the sound but glad to have it in my collection now

Edited 2 years agoI own varient 1 of this pressing. It sounds good. Not great. I own all reissues of PJ records. They are all pressed at United. And they are all listenable. dinamic range isn't great. This pressing is worth $30-$40 bucks IMO. I don't listen to my Pearl Jam records to test out the quality of my system. I listen to them to enjoy the amazing music. As I'm typing this, Black Redux just came on, and it sounds really good. I enjoy turning this record up loud and rocking out. However, if I had an OG pressing, I'd probably find myself listening dutifully on my headphones to the sonic magic!!! This reissue is fine if you just want to listen to Pearl Jam and not pick apart the small inaccuracies of an average vinyl pressing. Enjoy!

Yeah, not great sounding really..there are some crackles and pops, but that's not what really bothers me..both discs just sound flat and lifeless, not at all what I was expecting, really disappointed, oh well

My copy plays great. It's not the greatest pressing of all time, but it's not bad either, and I'm very picky. I was expecting much worse based on the other comments. The thing with this album is it should be played loud. If you are having issues with pops, just crank up the volume.
