Cross-Eyed Mary will shake the fillings out of your teeth and that should be an option on every so called audiophile pressing, wouldn’t you agree? I said “option”. If you’re the kind of cat that likes it without, so be it. This pressing is excellent and everyone should experience this awesome music.

Ive never heard this album so clearly. The vinyl is dead silent and the album sounds absolutely amazing.

No bass lacking in this pressing. It may have some midrange scoop (aka smiley EQ). But this version has life, dynamics and a heaping amount of low end on my rig (Rega P8/Hana Umami Blue>SimAudio Moon 310LP). Not thin or bright like some versions of Aqualung. I haven't done a direct comparison to the DCC LP or UHQR LP but I will put this one on the shoot out list ...

You have to turn up the volume quite a bit on this, but once you do, it has a very nice, clear, and detailed presentation that sounds like an "analog CD". It has the "smile" EQ, but it never causes sibilance that's too heavy, although the bass can feel lacking at times. It's certainly way better than a pink rim Island copy from I have that sounds like there are steel boxes in front of muted speakers.

A lot of people diss this release claiming it is over EQ'd and is nothing "like the real thing".
Lets face the facts, the real thing, or the UK original release sounds terrible. This MFSL pressing sounds superb. Probably the best sounding drums compared to any other issue.
The Steven Wilson Remix is also another strong contender, however i find myself reaching for the MFSL more often. -
In my lowly and wretched opinion (contrary to many others) I think the sound of this pressing is far more dynamic and lively than the more revered DCC pressing, WHICH I HAD! I traded it for some really nice albums 😁
Honestly, I could never get into the DCC because on my system anyway it just came across as rather dead sounding. So, when doing a critical comparison, this one easily beat it, primarily in dynamics and liveliness. Perhaps others who prize tonal response more MIGHT find that more pleasing, IDK... But, my system is set up strongly to favour image and soundstage:
