My glossy cover copy has a small printed LC sticker on side A label, filled in with a hand ritten code nr. 8683.

This UK press 12" vinyl has the exact same matrix but comes in two versions, one with glossy sleeves and one without. Does anyone know why the specs are different?
Which one was produced first?
Also, is there a difference in the number produced? -
Edited 3 years agoThe 3 instrumental interludes between songs are simply sublime and specific to this record. One is missing on the vinyl version, the one before "Honey Power". Each of these pieces will take you very far if you play them over and over again, in loop.

The segue after "To Here Knows When" on Tremolo is a totally different piece of music than the one that follows "To Here Knows When" on Loveless. And it's very strange that the segue between the second and third tracks is basically omitted (actually it fades out after a few seconds) from the vinyl, and you lose about 80 seconds of amazing music. I've never heard Shields say anything about it being a mistake, and I've pretty much read everything out there. (Really, I have.). I think he wanted it to flow from that segue into the "Honey Power" which can't happen when you have to flip the vinyl. Every digital release has all three seques. Shields said in an interview I read that he considers it a seven track EP, but because of the proper definition of an EP for industry purposes, he couldn't make the segues into discrete tracks or give them names. Maybe an EP can only have 4 to 5 tracks or something along those lines. It had something to do with maintaining its status as an EP for release purposes as opposed to being defined as a mini album or some other product if it has too many tracks.

does this 12" have the same "to here knows when" coda as the CD ep release? or is it omitted like the swallow interlude?

"The drums and vocals are not mixed low, you're just not listening loudly enough". Definitely a personal top 3 record. I want to live in those instrumental interludes forever. Sounds much softer and less abrasive on vinyl. 💖💗💖💗💖
