On front sleeve: "The Apollo Theatre Presents • In Person! The James Brown Show".
On rear sleeve: "James Brown 'Live' At The Apollo".
Tracks on the disc are not banded. Track list is on the rear sleeve, but the parts in the medley and the track placement across sides is indicated by disc play.
This edition can be identified by:
• "Voted #1 R&B Star of 1962" on the marquee on front sleeve. Many later versions have "Star of Stars".
• Hal Neely liner notes on B&W rear sleeve. Many later versions have a color catalog of other albums by the artist.
• King address on rear sleeve listed as just "Cincinnati 7, Ohio". Later versions may include "1540 Brewster Ave." and full postal code.
• Black labels with crownless King logo. Later versions have a King logo including a crown on the labels, and some are red.
• Narrow font on the artist line on the labels (on most other versions but this one, the third line is as wide as the first)
• HI-FI text font on labels is same height as the other fonts (unlike this one).
• Night Train is the last track. Some versions have Think as the last track.
