Providence is easily one of the best Bill Leeb recordings of all time. How did this end up a B-side on a half-hearted single? It should have been a feature on a Delerium album. The bassline is a little harder than typical Delerium fare, but it's tempered by Jenifer McLaren's operatic vocals. Leeb has stated in the past that he sometimes has trouble deciding whether a certain song goes on a FLA album, versus Noise Unit or some other side project. That's probably what happened to this forgotten masterpiece.

Although the title track is ok, it is "Providence" that is the star of this release. However, it deserves a better fate than being the forgotten B-side on a single like this. The style is not similar to the "Everything Must Perish"-material and in fact not in the veins of FLA at all. This belongs better with the songs released under the name Delerium. Although the music itself is a little bit harder than your average uplifting Delerium-track, I find it confusing that they would choose to release it under this name, perhaps it has something to do with contracts or legal rights, what do I know. As for the title track of this single there is only an additional radio edit on offer, making the genuine FLA-content rather spartan on this cd.
