It's a very nice disc. The song is perfect and it is a very nice music we can listen! It's a mix between the modern music and the London symphony orchestra, it's beautiful.

Groundbreaking and arguably amongst the best music ever written for a stage musical. The show's staging itself might have been a troubled affair but this is a strong body of work. The recent Polar CD reissue is a poor remaster of the original version and the DVD stuff probably of most interest to fans but worth owning if you are. Vinyl is your best bet for audio but the original CD is the best for CD listeners. Regarded as 'quiet' by modern standards there is much more dynamic to the transfer than the new remaster.
You should also dig out the Danish production cast recording of Chess. It's in English, studio recorded and very engaging. -
I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm not a fan of ABBA. I find their songs to be uninteresting and think there's better '70's pop music out there. However, the male half (Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus) managed to make something that caught my attention. This concept album about an international chess tournament has a great combination of catchy pop tunes ("One Night in Bangkok", "The Deal", "Nobody's Side") and beautiful orchestral work ("Chess", "You and I", "Anthem"). Never before has chess sounded so exciting.
