does anyone have a promo copy of this? my pressing has a "loaned for promotion only" stamped/branded into the back and the inner sleeve is a mercury promotion with a bunch of different albums on it. has the code 10-30-77 on it

Brilliant album, hasn't dated and is a fresh today as it was when I first bought it. Hearing 'Let's Start The Dance' again was an excellent reminder of the real meaning of dance and record production back in the day.

A banger nearly all the way through. IT's disco for sure but there is a deep funk backbone to these songs. Recommended.

Why are the Statler Brothers credited as a co-artist on the master release?

Bohannon certainly developed his own style, this is perhaps the best of it. Side-1 is in essence a dance party at the Bohannon studios. Unique rhythm, great percussion and drums, and the pulsing "Bohannon" vocal. Also, maybe it's just me but this is definitely a well engineered and a good pressing.

"Let's Start the Dance" is sampled by Nick Holder under his alias Fruit Loops - the track there is called "Clap Ya Hands"

One of the more roots disco stuff, has been sampled many time from Kenny Dope to Paul Johnson (even Alcatraz). The first track is certainly one of the "house original" stuff. Even you can find the root of the big Paul Johnson great hit “Get Down”.
