There are 2 Versions of the original:
Maybe early version 1998- "In this time, the most precious substance in the universe is the spice Melange".
There is maybe a later version - "TODAY the most precious substance in the universe is the spice..."
The vocals are different. The first one is taken directly from the movie
    "DUNE"

"Der Dritte Raum" coverd this in their track "Trommelmaschine" from 1999.

I think you should check out Arrakis - The Spice is a lot slower, they are very similar.

The original mix is essential for fans of dark, minor key Trance.

Obviously aimed towards fans of the movie Dune, this will not disappoint lovers of mysterious sounding Trance (such as Luxor - Superstitious).

The remixes are boring. You'd expect something special from Binary Finary, but while their remix is "satisfactory" it does sound rather laborious.

Especially if you compare it to their remix of Swan - Memory.

I got this gem just for the Silent Breed remix. It starts off simple enough, but once full blown it is quite a stormer. It's a shame I've never heard this proper like in a club or rave. It would sound amazing on big system I believe. Definitely a little too long to play in it's entirety though.
