Sounds good BUT I prefer the 2017 Back To Black pressing. This one feels thinner than that version. Its not a bad master at all. However, I have played the later version over and over and over, and I bought this to compare the two. To my ears the remaster has a fuller sound. Its nicely rounded with subtle lows and highs. The original sounds more treble heavy.

Either way - fantastic piece of New Wave. It makes me smile how the band recorded it in LA yet if feels like their most New York album. I can imagine walking the streets of NY and hearing any of the songs on Autoamerican drifting out of bars and clubs and strip ts.

Not a lot of low end on this pressing but still sounds great (I don't know how more modern pressings compare). 'Autoamerican' is a fantastic album and although many people see this as the sound of a great band falling apart due to excess, I enjoy the mish-mash of styles - lounge jazz, disco, rocksteady, rap, power pop etc. It tails off towards the end but for me it's as good as Parallel Lines and Eat to the Beat, with the added bonus of being more experimental. The Tide is High and Rapture are among their best singles.

it is hard to see any difference with the same CDL 1290 indicated as Netherlands I have a copy with a match to neither exact numbers at the end of the matrix. Unless the UK one never came with a printed inner sleeve?
