This was a major entry point for the non -iconic Dylan records for me. The Sly & Robbie element makes it groove a blues element throughout. Jokerman is an epic song. Works for me in a big way.

This is nice sounding pressing with solid EQ. My CD from the boxset is nice but this comes alive, rich, full sound so you can really appreciate Knopfler’s production. Nice bass and percussion.

Dream Band: Mick Taylor, Knopfler and Sly and Robbie,... and Dylan coming down from a 3 album christian bender.

this is right up there with Blonde and BOTT

Gold. What a great record. This sounds perfect. You can’t ask for anything better. Great band playing behind Bob. Buy if you can find this.

Can someone update the matrix runout? I just acquired this promo copy however I believe I have a mismatch. The cover has the gold stamp but the record inside has the matrix runout that matches the 1986 reissue.

Brilliant record. World class band. Sly & Robbie? Are you kidding me? Knopfler? How did that even come about?

If there is a God, thank him for making Dylan turn his back on him. This is definitely his best album since Slow Train, probably the best since Blood on the Tracks. Lyrically Bob is back on top form, Knopfler is back on the scene producing and playing guitar alongside Mick Taylor of the Stones, and with Sly and Robbie on the rhythm section something would have had to have been very wrong for it not to sound tight. It's certainly a lot better than the three studio albums that followed. The most shocking fact is that the album didn't include the song Blind Willie Mctell. This was cut and not released until The Bootleg Series 1-3 was released. If they had included that utterly brilliant song then I would hold this album up as a classic just for including that song alone, but unfortunately it falls a little short.
