Atila – Reviure "Revivir"

the quality is surprisingly awful. I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I am with this, especially since Belle Antique releases that I have so far bought have been very good. But this is just bad. Sounds like a very old master has been used or a Vinyl LP. The source material is just in bad shape. A lot of sound fluctuations, stuff cutting out entirely, etc. . Considering that this album has recently been remastered in 2016 and that remaster sounds amazing, this Belle Antique release is particularily puzzling, having been released in 2019. And considering how costly these Japanese releases are, it's especially painful. This is probably the most disappointing CD I have bought in a long while. This album, which is phenomenal, deserves better treatment. And it's a shame, that this now is the only official version of this terrific masterpiece on CD (as a standalone release, not counting the double feature). An absolute waste of the SHM-CD format.

Edit: The biggest issues occur during the first song, which is just no fun to listen to with headphones. The rest of the album is less problematic, so I upgraded my rating to a (low) 3 star rating. But still, the remastered version from 2016 sounds way better in general.
