Only 5k copies helps.anyone ever seen a test press uhqr?if you read from inserts, any copy can be returned for replacements if defective.over the years these piled up and when they moved to la,all were sealed and sold.by that time, the sealing process of seated bags changed,so the difference is obvious.
Another great story, owners of mfsl were in Japan with master beatles tapes for pressing of box set.they were given 2 sets of UHQR BEATLES PRESSINGS,YES ENTIRE SET AS GIFT.I WAS OFFERED ONE FOR SALE COUPLE YEARS LATER FOR 10K BUT LACKED FUNDS AT TIME -
Just bought the Sgt Peppers UHQR from a Discogs seller and I absolutely love it! The sound quality is outstanding and it's hard to believe there's a better sounding pressing out there. I have a near mint US 1st pressing, as well as the 2017 Giles Martin remix, and this tops both of those by a wide margin. Bass and soundstage are great...just a very impactful and fun listen. Highly recommended!

Hi all,
I saw some beautiful and expensive Mint sealed copies listed here. Just want to warn you about my story...
A friend of mine picked-up for me a so called "Mint sealed" copy of a Japanese press in Paris () from a store which is listing here and many others "Mint sealed" nice records.
My friend is not a collector/expert and despite the shrink had been opened and the record checked, he didn't see the very light hairlines and spindle marks difficult to see at day light.
The record is more or less NM all around and an insert was missing. It costed me probably twice the price I should have been paying for. It's not bad grading, it's simply robbery.
So, be careful, famous old records still sealed are pretty rare on the market. Only real collectors and very serious stores like some I'm in touch with in Japan and the US can be trusted. And unfortunately more and more robbers like that shop in Paris are re-sealing records to make more money faster. I gave it a try. Too bad for me. A second try is not necessary, just don't buy anything from that guy.

From George Martin's 1994 book, "With a Little Help from My Friends: The Making of Sgt. Pepper" -
"Everybody had to be terribly quiet. If anybody were to have coughed, it would have sounded like an explosion. As it is, on the special Ultra High Quality Recording edition of Sgt. Pepper, you can hear the Abbey Road air-conditioning system purring away in the background as Geoff opens the volume faders to the stops at the very end of the die-away. That’s how we got the famous piano chord." -
Just got this myself, and man it sounds phenomenal. The dynamics, the vocals, crystal clear. Couldn't be happier with it. I can't imagine a better pressing exists. If it does, not sure I can handle it lol

Exceptional pressing - fantastic from the first sounds to the lasts - clear, dynamic, well balanced, beautiful highs and incredible lows - it s a real shame it s so rare and expensive because everybody should be given the opportunity to listen to sgt pepper this way instead of what is now sold …

What is going on here? Lots of Offers and "sellings" by sellers with no or bad ratings at ridiculous prices ?
Can anybody explain? -
Edited 2 years agoI have many pressings of Sgt Pepper, including the UK first press, all minty, and this UHQR press is the clear winner… incredible clarity and separation, wide & deep soundstage, and sparkle. And dead-quiet vinyl. This is The One!

I managed to get a copy but it doesn't have a box or the literature (just disc and COA).
Longshot - but if anyone has just that stuff without the disc itself, I'd love to make a deal. -
