Edited 8 months agoThe last great album from Bruce and it is a beauty. Fabulous songwriting wonderful string arrangements a truly American sound. Moonlight Motel is a classic the lyrics are so emotional at times It has brought me to tears

Beautiful album but on my copy side 2 and side 4 are off-centered. Especially on side 2 the wobbling is very clear to hear. Side 1 and 3 are fine. -
This a typical modern day commercial recording. It is not, nor has it ever claimed to be, an audiophile recording, nor can it compare with a good original sixties or seventies analogue production. The dynamics can at times be a little compressed which on more complex or layered tracks does introduce some muddling of the mix. The orchestral parts suffer from a lack of ambience. The instrument is well captured but the environment it is performing in is absent. I guess it is all a matter of personal taste and perhaps experience, but if you have listened to a decent audiophile pressing this production will disappoint. Make no mistake though this is a good album, and I am no fanatic of Bruce, the cinematic landscapes he evokes are impressive and the whole package is very good. If you mainly listen to current commercial albums, sonically this will not disappoint but to repeat, it is no audiophile treat.
