Fantastically executed compilation of Sam Rivers’ live recordings of this era.
The vinyl from this era might not be ultra silent, but the mastering is fine and makes up for the occasional pop and tick on this NM example. -
i attended the concert B4, B5; Battell Chapel, Yale University, New Haven, CT; it was a triple bill with Sam Rivers Trio: Cecil Mcbee and Barry Altschul; Keith Jarrett: Charlie Haden and Paul Motian; Gato Barbieri Chapter One (band); a treasured memory and a good example of the influence the Impulse label had on creative music
