Worth noting this was a posthumous release, with only 6 of the songs in a completed state at the time of Miles death in September of 1991.

I discovered this album thanks to the fantastic and overturning consciousness movie - "A Trip to Karabakh" (2005); based on the 1992 novel "Journey to Karabakh" by Aka Morchiladze. NO WAR!

At the time of course, everyone hated this. But its stood the test of time pretty well. Ok so some of the rapping is weak, but the horn and samples work well together. As always Miles was trying to stay contemporary and doing a pretty reasonable job. This is far from his worst record
