My first Autechre album, given to me as a present back in 2003. Never looked back. What a phenomenal pressing too - everything sounds brutal and precise. Sure the repress is great too, the others all are, but if you see a cheap original then it's definitely worth it.

Having been an AE fan since the beginning this, at the time was a huge disappointment. I didn't play it for years after a few initial listens on release.
Fast forward to 2019 I gave it another listen and realised it was one of the best things they had produced!
Excellent LP but probably not the best place to start with the catalogue. -
Edited 4 years agoThe physical quality of the product is very high class with a thick gatefold sleeve and glossy print effects. For the music aspects of it, well it is definitely an electronic music masterpiece for sure & the press reflects this on playback. Get this « cheap » if you dont own it on vinyl as it tends to be cheaper than other autechre releases.

Edited 4 years agoVery slippery and moist, skullfucks my brain like no other. IV VV IV VV VIII sounds like you're being scanned in an MRI

The packaging for this album is beefy as hell. Very thick and study. The music, of course, is absolutely bangin. Every track is great, but my favorite would have to be "6IE.CR", which is pretty much the pinnacle of gut wrenching glitchy drum madness along with a great melody. A must have

Edited 7 years agoMy favorite of all Autechre albums. Once you HEAR it there's nothing more to say about it.

Edited 14 years agoThis gatefold vinyl edition of the album is quite excellent. Great music. Classic Autechre.

Edited 18 years agoUndoubtedly my favourite Autechre album. When I first looked into them and came across "Tri Repetae++" and "Incunabula", I was a little disappointed as they weren't anywhere near as edgy and forward thinking as I thought they would be. Maybe these two have dated in their sound; you know it for sure when listening to "Draft 7.30". Most of the tracks here could almost for being of the clicks and cuts aesthetic, but are just a teensy bit edgier and have a continually ominous vibe throughout. "Surripere" and "V-Proc" are definitely the best tracks, probably closely followed by "Xylin Room" and "IV VV VI VII VIII", but the ending of "Reniform Puls" stays with you owing to its clever use of a sampling of speaker .
