I tend to lean towards their debut personally as their greatest recording, but any of the first three are worthy I'm in the mood to hear some Ramones. Their last album with Tommy on drums Rocket to Russia is hard to beat. Don't forget this was the Ramones answer to the UK assault of punk that had followed in their wake. By the time this hit shelves albums from The Clash and of course The Sex Pistols were readily available and making quite an impact. Unfortunately a lot of what came out was getting the credit The Ramones deserved. They weren't as brash or obnoxious but in my opinion the UK punk bands could never touch The Ramones initial trilogy of albums musically. They weren't out to make social statements or rally against anything, they just wanted to push the boundaries of what popular music was at the time... And they accomplished that tenfold. A must have *****

I have two early vinyl pressings (pre 80’s) of Rocket To Russia LP. One copy has a brighter, almost hot pink lettering on the front cover. The other copy has a slightly darker, almost magenta lettering. The color difference is quite obvious when the records are placed side by side. Can anyone shed some light on this mystery for me? Much appreciated.

i have rocket to russia with the sticker promotional copy not for sale by sire records!!
where is this release here at discogs? -
Got some skips as well, my copy seems solid so far, no scraps... nothing. so i think its not the player nor the condition of the vinyl.

Edited 8 years agoDoes anyone have a copy that has the same label on both sides? Mine has the side 1 label on both sides. I didnt see that mislabel on the versions above.
