Funny to read this is a promo copy. Bought it in a regular German record store back in 1994 for 26,00 Deutsche Mark. Wunderful record in great quality.

this thing sounds great there seems to be a pressing defect that I've found on 3 separate copies where there is some light clicking in sober near the build up to guitar solo. The only noticeable problem with the sound. Otherwise, this thing sounds amazing. Their best album imo and shocked this one is not going for much more

I've been lucky enough to have a copy of this for many years now and its always been something of a prized record that didn't get played as I had the 2LP retail release. Its 2020 and I've dusted it off and given it a whirl and I have to say, it shocked me. The quality of this pressing is simply outstanding and its almost like finding the album in the way it should have been mixed in the first place. Every version ive heard, from CD, MP3s and vinyl has had a slightly diluted sound and I've always found the drums to be a bit messy in the mix, especially the bass drum, ( an example being the drum fill after the breakdown in swamp song) which is such a shame considering the skill of Danny Carey. Everything just hits right in this pressing. The bass drum is punchy and the treble comes across rich and warm but still crisp.
Seriously, its like listening to it for the first time again, but with even more of a wow factor.
Just a shame that the price is so high these days. And yes you miss Disgustipated, but lets be honest, how often did you listen to it anyway? -
Edited 6 years agoMan, thinking of getting this version because of its worth, but no disgustipated, hmmmm, this will be a tough decision.

My local store has this release for $50. I'm wondering if the quality is superior to the 2006 release that is widely available for under $20.
