People are complaining about this, you have to be kidding me!! The deficiencies on side C are very well known and the rest of this show is phenomenal. Amazing release!! I wish they also did the Vancouver’73 and Seattle shows on vinyl too. This Portland show is absolutely mandatory as far as I’m concerned.

The record has it flaws, but the highs are definitely worth it. It's one of the few Grateful Dead albums records I have have where the drums are really prominent. That being I am still in need of a sub to enhance my experience.
-
I understand the criticism about some of the vocal cuts, but I love this release. Jerrys guitar on side G is just so crisp I love love love it

Underrated dead release. Performance is exceptional. Recording is imperfect but the pressing is great. Price is too good. A very nice entry point for dead live vinyl.

Edited one year agoListening to this again, and despite the notorious C side, this thing sounds wonderful. It’s one of those things I just wanna show my Deadhead friends who aren’t into vinyl, just to see if they’ve ever heard the Dead sound quite this good. If you can find one of these cheaply, aw man..

Edited one year agoMy two cents is that their is entirely to much great music on here to ignore over a few sound quality issues, minus probably 5 seconds of Donna and less than one side with low vocals, and yes u can still hear Bobby just a bit and if ur buying the GDead on vinyl ur probably a huge fan and know the lyrics… honestly it doesn’t bother me a bit because Jer’s guitar is soooo good and high in the mix, that leaves like over 3 hours of peak Dead imho, I also waited on buying this for the negative reviews but im also glad i picked it up, probably not a good 1st purchase of live Dead on vinyl but definitely worthwhile - bargain at $100!

Everyone is whining about Jerry's mic cutting out on side C. It's like 4 songs, and you can still hear the Bobby's vocals for the most part. Guys, this is in my opinion one of the most solid live performances in the dead archive. Cmon now!

Just got this and can’t get over how beautiful all the artwork is. The box and the discs themselves. Just wow.

Pick this up if you still can. The vocal problems are sorted out after only a couple of songs. Definitely one of the best China > Riders and Truckin’s ever. Also with supreme wall of sound audio…can’t beat it!
