With the smooth "Baghdad Cafe (Callin' U)" -- with vocals provided by the talented Naomi N'Sembi to open SOUNDTRACK FOR LIFE, A:xus shows that he's ready to warm the heart with some deep house. The breaks of "Raw Emotions" is boosted by a dreamy vibraphone, while "My Planet Rocks" bops along gently, though it does seem to be essentially a different version of their mix for Chaser's "Blue Planet." The strings of "Synchronicity" add a sweeping touch, while "Pluto" has a distinct Detroit flavor. The title track adds a little jazz flavor to the mix, blended with some phone messages just because, though "Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days" plays it more straightforward. The thick double bass of "Taxi Blues" is like a hug, and N'Sembi returns to add her warmth to "Nice to See You Again." The stomps back in classic form on "When I Fall In Love" with solid vocals by Esthero (here appearing under her Bratticus pseudonym). The final track, "You Make Me Feel Like (Peace & Love & Happiness)" goes uptempo, in case you feel like dancing. This soundtrack can definitely accompany your life, if you like.
