This 1st pressing variation has turquoise sleeve lettering (like this one) and Superhype Music/Jewel Music Publishing credits labels. This issue has on side one the "misspelling Superhype" label lists songs 1, "3", 4. as Superhype Music and then 3. again as Jewel Music.
Also 1st Issues Have Uncorrected Matrix Numbers On Run Out, Later Pressings Have The Letter 8 Crossed Out

I have version 2 with the Superhype mis credit on side one but also on side two Track two Black Mountain Side is printed too high so it is almost touching the track one listing has anyone ever seen this?

I know it would be better with photos, but I don't know where to pix on this site. I got this record from an old dead friend of mine who has lived years in and Spain. He probably bought it in those countries in the seventies or eighties, and visibly never played it. -
So, I add my "very special version" of this LP. Dunno what I'll do with it, sell it or keep it. I have no idea of what would be a decent price. Even if this kind of could interest somebody. Here it is :

Although the turquoise sleeve version only exists as a UK pressing, it seems a US version was planned. In Billboard magazine issue dated Feb 15, 1969 the LP is reviewed along with a photo of the turquoise sleeve. It's a US pressing too, with "stereo" printed on the top right corner, which the UK version didn't have. -
I have an interesting theory. Why different covers were made, Turqouise lettering and Orange lettering sleeve? Maybe one was designed for MONO discs and the other for STEREO discs.
There are early pressing which have (on it's matrix number "588171") the second "8" scratched out on matrix number and repaired back in its place hand-etched "8". The mono version was never made but if one had been made then the catalog number would have been "587171" (stereo was "588171"). Maybe someone thought the matrix is a mono record and therefore meant to change the number 8 to number 7 but corrected back to number 8 because mono was never made (for example The catalog number for VANILLA FUDGE Vanilla Fudge MONO version was Atlantic 587086 and STEREO version was atlantic 588086. In the end of the 60s the Stereo Atlantic LP's always starts "588 ..." and Mono "587 ...")
In my opinion, the 1st pressing of this album is both, Turqouise lettering sleeve and Orange lettering sleeve. one was designed for MONO discs and the other for STEREO discs. But which one actually came first, Warner credits on labels or Superhype credits on labels? the answer can be found in the in the original inner sleeves which always are factory date coded. Usually there are date code on the "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeves, for example "1172 47" (November 1972, week number 47) or "24 69" (June 1969 week number 24) or "336" (year 1973 week number 36) etc. So everyone who owns the early version can tell here what date is on the inner bag! -
