Notes
The tracks of each part ('Earth, Heaven' and 'The Choice') are numbered sequentially on both inner sleeves and labels. The runouts are etched, apart from "MASTERDISK", which is stamped; and the plating marks such as "1=", "1+", "1⊥", are mirrored.
'The Choice' disc is hidden in the middle of the packaging, under a corrugated seam. The seam must be cut open to access the hidden disc.

Edited one year agoUltimate Jazz ....... Pure Organic music ....... in free way, with harmonie and 50-70 cinematique feel.
Pure pieces, Kamasi out 2 Box set album, pure must have pack
Oh iam alway borring by all audio comment about pressing ?! Iam worked 30 years in musique, 10 in mastering studio 😂🤣😂😅
Please stop ur sheety comment
Your not Rashad at all.
And Rashad Becker probably have no comment on this mastering work and pressing
Sure you can mastering that in different way, but its an another records ..... -
The music is not bad, but the pressing is mind bogglingy bad. Dull, bass heavy, no treble. What was the mastering engineer thinking?

Kennt jemand von euch die 4 LP´s Version? Katalog Nummer ist YT176LP aber halt nur mit vier Platten.

Great packaging, great idea. But sound quality of LP is not good. The mid-bass range is generally too loud, which fills out the sound of the other instruments. This is especially true for the songs that feature the string section.
If you can, try listening to other formats and compare. The difference is noticeable even when listening to Apple Music. There is a better balance of mid and low frequencies in the mix, and you will be able to hear more of the music. -
Such a great album!! Even though I haven't opened the disc 5 :)
Street fighter mas is sooooo good (have you heard the version of Rodrigo y Gabriela?)! -
If ONLY a label such as Blue Note had signed Kamasi, great band and album.
Yet again terrible SQ deserves too much better -
Probably the best jazz album I’ve heard in years, this dramatic diptych conjures up all sorts of imagery in its two-and-a-half-hour runtime, but for me the most enduring image is that of an Afrofuturist take on Michael Powell’s A Matter of Life and Death. The ascent from Earth to Heaven is slow and uncertain but there’s not a single minute I’d take out of it.

For me the hidden record was great fun, its at least a thing i will use.
Have harder time whit boxsets full of T-shirts or other things i can never use to keep my box complete. -
Edited 2 years agoI found this tip for getting out the bonus LP it comes via Amazon from a member named Shane Schlick…
There is a "pre-ripped" opening at the TOP of the center that you can gently cut with a knife to access the bonus record without tearing up the packaging. DO NOT TEAR THE BOTTOM of center ! You will just get glue all over your record as you pull it out, and will most likely damage the inner and outer sleeves too, along with the beautiful packaging.
I hope this helps others without damaging the great LP package. There is also a picture on Turntable Lab that shows the actual opening for the hidden LP.
