Like many reissues this one also suffers from sibilance but it's not too bad.

When I first heard that Transdance was getting a repress on Copilote I immediately flew online to pre-order my copy.

Thankfully I got one of the 500, and I treasure it.

What a track! Originally recorded in 1981 (the 1983 UK Club Mix is featured here), this is the real sound of the New Romantic movement. Of course Fade To Grey is the ambassador, but Transdance is the image in my head when I think of the Blitz club. And yes, I was two years of age at that time.

This '83 mix predates House by three years, but it could easily fit into a mix of Chicago Warehouse classics. It was an undeniable influence on Electroclash, and again it would fit into any Electro House mix with ease.

What's it got? Well, what's it NOT got!

Moody male vocal, angelic female singing, tight House percussion, a menacing dark bassline, ice cold synths...

      A dance music classic.

***This review was originally written by me under the assumption that the '83 UK Mix was in fact the original 1981 version. I have amended my review after learning that the 1981 version is in fact noticeably different, in tempo at least (ironically the original 1981 version will mix with Fade To Grey without much pitch change)***
