Edited 4 years agoPure Viking Metal at its best. Quorthon at his best, even if the completion of the album-material was somehow forced by the fans. If you are looking for complex musical technical skills and great production you have to look for something else. You will find here only what really counts: Inspiration, ion, Mythology and... Blood on Ice! Some day you will find this album in a music museum while many other nowadays popular, hyped or even hipster viking metal albums will end up in the trash. Hail To Quorthon! Hail to the Immortal Warriors in Valhalla and the Elysian Fields!

Edited 7 years agoBlood on Ice BMCD 666-12 (1996) first press CD without the 2003 mention Versus Blood on Ice BMCD 666-12 (2003) CD with 2003 mention on the back: BMCD 666-12 (2003) CD is secretly remastered (loudness). ///
After studying a comment on discogs + a mention that the 2014 LP presses are represses of the 2003 CD's, it tells me that they are still secretly remastered. ///
From Hammerheart album to Blood on Ice, The non-remasters are all before the 2003 year:
