Always loved how, in the days before we knew what trolling was, the Volume compilers popped Pavement at track 9 and The Fall at track 10 on this superb release.

In many ways it poured water on the "Pavement are just Fall copyists" debate that raged in the letter pages of the weekly inkies at the time by showing just how different the two bands could be. Both Greenlander and Arid Al's Dream are excellent gateways into the respective bands. And quite different from each other.

Butterfly Child - We, The Inspired - is otherwise unreleased, and is a truly amazing song.
