What a godawful piece of crap I've stumbled upon! These "ethnic"/"world music" remixes of Jon Anderson songs are for teenage pill popping techno fans only (and possibly for fans of this piece of sh*t: Jean-Michel Jarre - Welcome To The Other Side (Concert From Virtual Notre-Dame)...). It's even a waste of money to DL a copy from a Russian site for free...this is freakin' worse than omicron!

I bought this album over ten years ago in a second hand music store because I saw it had a FSOL track on it. At the time, I didn't even know who Global Communication was. Was I in for a surprise. "Bless This" became my favorite ambient track for quite some time and led me to discover the many wondrous works of Tom Middleton. The entire album is very interesting and creative. Trans-Global Underground gives us three tracks, two downtempo and one upbeat, that focus on ethnic vocals and deep layers of atmosphere. Deep Forest contributes two surprisingly good tracks, one slow and relaxed and the other is basically just a faster version. Typical Deep Forest sounds & vocal snippets that work very well with the source material. FSOL's track is a masterpiece of deep ambience and sound design, definitely one of my favorites of theirs. But Global Communication's track is, to my ears, the real highlight of the album, closing out an already atmospheric journey with an even deeper and richer atmosphere. Although not a popular compilation, this deserves a spot in any ambient techno fan's collection. 5/5
