Sublime fourth chapter in the tale of Regraded, this time from none other than Panorama Bar regular Gerd Janson. Why do we love Regraded? Well, for a start it’s run by Midland and, secondly, the releases from this new project are always so considered; in the way that it’s got to be a certain calibre before release is even considered. ‘Surrender’ far exceeds these bench marks in a highly energetic dancefloor pounding EP which perfectly fulfils its chief goal – re-ignite the party when tired feet are lagging. The title track is a perfectly weighted balance between nu-disco and house with a rolling bassline, jangling cowbell and dramatic vocal breaks. ‘Gentle Pace’ is anything but what it suggests, and the hum of the bass along carefully selected synths will drag you to the front just when you thought it was time to go home.

Perfect for: We can imagine this little number saved for 5AM when the energy is lacking purely through shear exhaustion rather than lack of heart on the dancefloor. Reward those who stayed long enough with ‘Surrender’ and there will be hugs all over the place.
